With a catch… and the catch is not a big one, we are already here… AI has taken over so many jobs
Many people have concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence on various aspects of human life. One of these concerns is the effect of AI on the value of writing. There is a growing sentiment that writing has no more monetary value due to the advent of AI language models like ChatGPT, which can produce human-like text with remarkable accuracy and speed. In this article, I will explore this claim and assess its validity.
First, it is important to understand the context of this claim. With the increasing sophistication of AI language models, many businesses are turning to them for content creation. This has led to a proliferation of AI-generated content on the internet, from news articles to product descriptions to social media posts. The ease and speed with which AI language models can produce text have led some to believe that writing as a profession will become obsolete and that the value of writing will diminish accordingly.
However, there are several reasons to be skeptical of this claim. For one thing, while AI language models like ChatGPT are good at generating text based on certain inputs, they are not capable of producing truly original or creative content. Writing that requires imagination, intuition, and a deep understanding of the human experience will always be in demand, and AI language models are unlikely to replace human writers in these areas.
Furthermore, while AI-generated content may be fast and cheap, it is often not of the highest quality. AI language models are limited by the data they are trained on, and can sometimes produce text that is factually inaccurate, culturally insensitive, or just plain nonsensical. In conclusion, while it is true that AI language models like ChatGPT are changing the landscape of content creation, I personally don't think writing has no monetary value, BUT some sectors of writing clearly don't. This further amplified the monetary value of parts of writing which AI cannot write like creative stories, scripts, poems, novels, etc.
