Is AI REALLY deadly to Humans???
Here is where we need to draw the line… We NEED to keep improving
We are humans and apparently, the only way we live without being extinct on Earth is by improving ourselves(humanity as a whole). We probably would be extinct if we continue being as primitive as our ancestors, considering there is almost no physical advantage for us over most carnivore animals. With that said, we have top-level thinking and collaborative brains to boast about. Unlike most physical benefits for animals, the mental advantage we have as humans also comes with some significant disadvantages. The thought process also introduces some more problems with ourselves, like terrorism and so on. This brings us to the actual topic we will talk about today.
How To Think Of AI As?
I think we need to stop thinking of AI as a weapon. AI should be thought of as… well… something like clay. You could bend it however you want, and create whatever you want, provided you are advance enough and have the skill to do so. Of course, this depends and is completely opinionated. Now I’m sure some of you might be convinced for a fact that AI will kill us after watching the video above. But here me out
Yes, but personally, I think the problem created by AI is so less, that it’s almost negligible. Well, at least compared to the 100x problems we have which could affect the apocalypse. I mean think about it. Just 1 rich guy in this world is enough to be brainwashed, to create a tsar bomb and just 10 such rich guys are enough to affect humanity three times more than the great Covid guys we have with us. And not just that, with the current scale we are going, more than 200 cities would be inhabitable in the next 100 years due to just the climate extremes. These 2 are just the tip of the iceberg.
What if we also consider the depletion of resources? Considering we tripled the population in the past century, I’m sure the acceleration will increase in population, but on the other hand, we also have non-renewable resources like coal, petrol, etc will deplete to nothingness. It’s sad to know for a fact that in a few centuries, your future generation will see coal through textbooks, pictures, and videos.
I mean… here is my point. The way people say AI is going to be the cause of humanity is highly not probable. The only way I could see AI killing humans is through the malfunction of a physical man-made structure caused by AI through a bug, error, etc and I don’t see humans building something at such a large scale for the next few centuries until global warming or terrorism kills us.
By saying this, I know that I disagree with other of my role models like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, but personally, I don’t think they gonna read this article, so I don’t care.
